History: Grant County was served by bookmobile service until 1966 when the main library was established in Petersburg. The Allegheny Mountain Top branch in Mt. Storm opened in 1978. In 1985, the main library was badly damaged by a devastating flood, and was eventually replaced by the current facility in 1990 after the Moomau family donated property for the new building. The library was then renamed the Moomau-Grant County Library. The Grant County Library system serves over 11,000 residents.
